Just watched Looper and OMG! Finally good writing out of hollywood!

Granted there were definite continuity holes in the script and i felt some parts needed a bit reworking because he had some great elements but werent fully fleshed out but you can see this kid has an eye for writing scifi.

That being said i would love to see Rian write and direct the next Star Trek film for the popcorn summer of 2015/16. I am no fan of Orci, Lindeloff, and that other sh!t writer (didnt enjoy Star Trek Into Darkness) but i do admit that the first Star Trek film they wrote (sans Lindeloff) was quite entertaining even though the villain was weak.

So, it just feels like this guy could write a detailed, thought provoking, and entertaining script in the style of young, hungry James Cameron with all his great early sci-fi works (watch all of his director's cuts) excluding the moment he became Lucas-ized (the crap we call Avatar).

Anyway, i doubt Rian reads this post but maybe, hopefully someone in the know reads this and it makes its way through Paramount halls and they begin the calling/negotiation process to get this kid aboard.

I will bet good money the film by Rian would be highly praised and finally make Trek crack the $300m domestic mark where it should and was expected to be this summer (right now its only at $224m).

Thanks! Appreciate the vote of confidence, I really enjoy the Star Trek movies. For the time being I'm going to stick to continually attempting to better flesh out my own original stuff, for better or for worse.

Welcome to the forum.

Makes you think what Brick might've been like had it been a Star Trek film.

Think, Brain, think! Who or what's the brick of Brock?
I'm doing the best I can, Brendan.
