Okay. I am really excited about this. BUT:

1. FUCK BLU-RAY. Give me one good reason they couldn't put all the same features on the DVD.
2. I was really excited to find out what the Easter Egg would be. I can't believe Rian actually told them which short it was....it's hardly even an Easter Egg at that point :(

I seriously agree about the Blu Ray racket. I have a PS3 so I can play them, but I think it blows to leave the extras off the DVD. Grr.

1. Actually there's a very good tech reason for it - DVDs only hold around 8 gigs, and putting an additional 40 minutes of material on would require using less data for the movie, upping the compression and compromising the image quality. Whereas blus hold much more and have ample space for optimal video plus extras.

2. Me too! Didn't know they would advertise the easter egg. Booooo.

But, don't some movies do the 2 DVD set? With the movie on one and all the extras on the other? If I didn't have a PS3, I'd definitely spend a few bucks more for extras.

Yeah, what's the good of being a box office success if it doesn't get us a two-disc set?

Also: I knew as soon as I typed "give me one good reason" that someone would...BUT I DID IT ANYWAY.

YOLO

Haven't seen the UK details yet (except that there will be a fancy pants edition in a cool case)

2nd disc = mo money for you. I will not punish the middle class. I WILL NOT

Blu Ray will be the same price then? That works out for me, because I have a PS3. ^_^ (Gamer.) I'm just feeling bad for folks who don't.

But, Best Buy has a $60 one. I think it's Sharp. Might be cheaper on Friday maybe? Hope you can get one!

What the beef is a steelbook? Do I need this? Does it have extra goodies on it? I don't see a lot of deets.

Also, and I'm just putting this out there, but: ACTION FIGURES. OMG, make it happen. :D I want to put Old and Young Joe next to Sephiroth.

If the UK blu ray comes in a working grandfather clock that would be amazing.

You gotta save the steel-book imitation bars of silver style casing for the Criterion release though. ;)

Auwe, buy 'em yourself! Super cool art and a special case, I'll take a pass. I just want the movies and the extras.

And action figures, man. I'm telling you.

Amazon to the rescue indeed. I watched every second of content on the disc today instead of doing, well, anything that I was supposed to be doing.
