Hi there, I am currently doing a huge assignment on Brick and one of the conventions I am talking about is colour. I have talked about how the colour is not black and white but that it still isn't saturated with bright colours. I was wondering if someone could give me a bit more information? I want to talk about the femme fatale - Laura and if red resembles anything (danger etc) and also what blue symbolises? Laura's car etc? The 2 scenes I am talking about is the scene at Laura's house when she is wearing the red kimono and the other scene is the one in the carpark at school when the fight happens between Brendon and Brad. Hope I can get some more info on colours for these scenes.
Thanks!

The red is very important, and it comes into play in two other crucial moments - when Brendan sees the lipstick on the cigarette, and when Tugger is punching the Pin at the end.

Good luck on your paper! 8)

Thanks for that! Just watched the movie again to try and find the lipstick on the cigarette but couldn't find it? Is it when Laura throws it out of the car?

I think that would be when they're at Tugger's house, when he realized the blue arrow cigarettes are Laura's.
