The theater I work at has been under new ownership for a couple of months. We do a pretty good mixture of independents and big Movies. For example, right now we have Goodnight Mommy and Pan as our new movies. Today I floated an idea by the general manager: I want to put together a Noir series. (That was my focus at school and I know a good bit about the history). Once a week in one of the smaller theaters I would show a classic noir or neo noir film. My question for y'all is what you would be willing to pay to see something like this? Say Touch of Evil or Pickup on South Street was playing. Average ticket price here is about 7 for matinee and 10 for a normal ticket. Should I speak before the films? Should I just make programs? I think it would work in this area, but I want to maximize my chances. Ideally it would be a chronological journey through the genre, beginning with M and ending with any recent noir.

What do you guys think?

It sounds great! I'd go, but, you know. The atlantic is in the way.

I'd say charge regular prices.

I would gladly pay. See no need to make the presentations more sophisticated than the audience. Just think "What will keep them coming back?" I guarantee that "I learned something" will not make the cut. Best wishes!
