Let's say, just hypothetically, that my band was going to be in Great Britain for two weeks this spring. Who could book us a show/host us or knows someone who could book us a show/host us? We have contacts set up in Manchester, Newcastle, Peterborough, and somewhere in Scotland, but thus far nothing in London or anywhere in Ireland.

I mean, hypothetically.

I don't live in London, but I know people who do. Including a singer-songwritery type who plays gigs there. So I'd presume he'd know how to do such a thing. He possibly doesn't play the type of venues you tend to (i.e. pubs rather than real venues, generally). I can get you in contact with him, if you'd like?

Totally! We'll play just about anywhere; pubs, living rooms, and street corners not excepted! None of us have been to the British Isles at all, so this is going to be half holiday and half tour. We just want to be able to play a few shows, hopefully to offset the expenses just a teeny tiny bit, and because it would be awesome. Honestly, we'd be happy to play house shows in exchange for a place to stay and maybe a meal.

This is still in the early stages of can-we-make-this-work; we're not sure yet we can afford it, so we're taking into account how many shows we might be able to book and how many floors and couches we can sleep on.

The best place to try in Middlesbrough is probably Ten Feet Tall:

If you want, I'll have a look and see for other places. I know there's a few pubs that do live music. If push comes to shove, there's a few places that do open mic nights, with free beer for participants.
