Understanding the complete unlikeliness of Mr. Johnson taking requests directly from his fans, and knowing that he'll probably want to do something else after Star Wars Episode VIII-- I personally think that if Craig Thompson's book "Habibi" ever gets adapted as a film one day, I would love to see Rian Johnson take up the helm in the director's chair.

For those who haven't read Craig Thompson's work-- Habibi is about a young girl born into slavery in the Middle East and takes in a young baby slave under her wing as they grow up together trying to get by in their environment(s). The sequencing is phenomenal, the characters are well developed, the inking has a lot of depth, and the environments are breathtaking.

For those who have read Habibi, what do you guys think? Think this is something Mr. J could direct (if he were given the option)?

I haven't read all of Habibi, but I can see why you'd imagine Rian as director. I think it'd be a good match.

That said, if he doesn't get back on track with that cyberpunk movie he teased us with the very SECOND the Star Wars smoke has cleared, I will turn in my badge and gun.

Also the "sentient computer ship dream" film which I maintain would be great.

Yeah-- Craig Thompson really knows how to capture the realism of desert landscapes w/ murky towns.

I can totally imagine Rian relying upon a ton of on location set filming with some CGI utilized for landscapes.
