Does anyone here have tattoo(s)? Thinking about getting one/another? Like them? Want to talk about them?
I'm thinking of getting one in 2016 (shhh) ;)
Thought it would be a cool thing to chat about, let's get nice an off-topic in the off-topic section.

1 - Yes. 3.
2 - Yes.
3 - Yes.
4 - Yes.

All three of my sons are inked. I helped w/design.
Marines® like their tats. Lots of big tats.

MINE in photo (see what i can do about detail shots) :
1 - left shoulder Marine Corp patch design w/modified text. Color.
2 - 2/3 wrap left forearm. my design. single black line.
3 - left hand in index/thumb triangle. my design Feänorian script.

THOUGHT :
getting a tat w/someone else is always a plus as
long as they don't insist upon sitting in your lap.

Fuzzy photo does not do tat justice.
Encircling text reads "PROUD FATHER OF U.S. MARINES".
Easy doesn't have any tats. Doesn't need 'em. He's too cool.
(that's Lumosity® on my laptop. way back when i was smart.)

:D

This is my only one for now, but yes, I like it a lot! I traced it in place on my arm with a sharpie for about a month beforehand to make sure I'd like always having it there, which I think is a good practice for a first tattoo. Hurt pretty good getting it, but by the time I was drinking coffee across the street afterwards, I was making plans to go again. Going with a friend is good. And spend the extra money to make sure you're going to a quality place where you feel clean/safe/understood.

I had plans to get more, but I took a paycut when I moved back to Chicago followed by a string of unexpected expenses, so I don't really have the budget for them right now. Should things change, I'd like to get the Misty Mountains around my upper arm, and start doing small bands around my wrist as I complete feature film projects.

None yet, but I'd rate the chances of my getting a Triforce and/or Deathly Hallows as "fair".

Color hurt worse than black (smaller needle I think?) and the closer it gets to the nipple the WORSE it gets.

But as far as pain goes, I think most of the discomfort comes from the fact that it's just a prolonged annoyance. It's like being very very mildly electrocuted for two hours.

Your artist was drunk.

Triforce is actually my next planned tattoo. :DDDDDD That, OR the Hylian crest. Or both!

Meantime, here is my only one so far:

Still deciding a lot of things.
1 - Not entirely sure, but I like something along the lines of a heart with an equals sign in the middle. Something in support of the LGBTQIA community and equality in general.
2 - Small, maybe inside wrist or center of my chest (where a necklace would fall)
3 - Maybe a black heart out-line with a red equals sign in the middle
4 - Sort of answered in 1 I guess, it's something I've wanted for a while but never been able to decide a design. I figured I never would decide on one unless I forced myself to think about it. And I want a small symbol but one that actually means something, not necessarily to me, but has cultural and social relevance.
5 - Nope. Again this is really early days.
6 - I need a job. That will dictate when I get it.
7 - She won't like it.
8 - She will like it. Although she thinks the design I'm leaning towards will mean I get hit on by a lot of gay men. She's thinking of getting an ampersand on her wrist which is what sparked this whole discussion.
9 - Being indecisive

You'll see the word "maybe" a lot there. Basically it's something I've told myself I'll get "at some point" for a long time but I figured I'd never actually get around to it unless I started talking about it a lot and getting opinions and making decisions.

Edit: I realize I'd neglected this thread for a while so figured I should reply, even if it's 2:30AM on new years day and I'm a bit buzzing. I'll probably come back to edit this post again when I'm sober. Until then ignore typos.

Thanks, I've had mixed responses honestly. I'm still thinking about designs but that's the one I keep coming back too, I finally found someone on the internet with something similar (near identical). I basically want the same design/size/placement but maybe the colors reversed.
https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/or ... eb5cdd.jpg

Also the pain/discomfort is going to be an interesting factor seeing as a I hate getting my hair cut, to the point that I shave my head once a year to avoid regular cuts (and save money) which is something my girlfriend is not a fan of.
It could be a deal-breaker or just something I have to build up my tolerance too, it's strange because I'm perfectly fine with some kinds of pain/discomfort but others really put my teeth on edge.
Can anyone explain the kind of pain/sensation? If that question makes any sense.
