Uh, not withstanding LA LA LAND which will probably be my favorite movie of the year, I'd say something like:

10. Kubo and the Two Strings
9. Hunt for Wilderpeople
8. Swiss Army Man
7. Tickled
6. Dr. Strange
5. Rogue One
4. Deadpool
3. The Nice Guys
2. Arrival
1. Moonlight

it has a surprising amount of rewatch value for that film.

Yeah, I have to watch it again too. Didn't really love it at all. Enjoyed it, sure. But seeing it on end of the year lists is making me think it was something other than another formulaic movie but with meta humor that came 5 years after Community.

I will defend my list by saying that I missed most films that, according to all of your lists, turned out to be good. I described my number ten as 'watchable'... I've been very busy! Leave me alone!

Also: I actually really liked Deadpool. Sorry. I was as surprised as you are.

I think Rocco and I are on the same page here - we both liked Deadpool. But seeing on these lists is more mystifying than if we'd hated it. If I'd hated it then I'd know that there was something in it that would really appeal to some people, the way that Jupiter Ascending did for me last year.

Although, having said that: I thought The Revanant was trash and genuinely cannot fathom that film's success.

Still: fascinating.

I bought the Revenant on bluray because it was on sale and I still haven't made it all the way through.

Warden, feed these people some raw meat. Can't you see they're starving?

My ten favourite movie scores for the year. Order is fairly arbitrary as these were all scores that I loved.

10. Moana by Mark Mancina
9. Rogue One by Michael Giacchino
8. Arrival by Jóhann Jóhannson
7. Warcraft: The Beginning by Ramin Djawadi
6. Kubo and the Two Strings by Dario Marianelli
5. 10 Cloverfield Lane by Bear McCreary
4. Nocturnal Animals by Abel Korzeniowski
3. Pete's Dragon by Daniel Hart
2. The Girl With All the Gifts by Cristobal Tapia de Veer
1. Lion by Dustin O'Halloran & Hauschka
