Absolutely devastated. Heard the news in the middle of watching a sports game and couldn't bear to tell anyone because I knew if I spoke I'd break down.

I shouldn't think Rian is going to be on the message board much in the near future, but this is must be even worse for him than it is for us.

If you are reading this, Rian, condolences and best wishes from all of us. Carrie was a special person.

I was thinking of Rian too.

Star Wars is such a huge part of my life. Little Kid me wanted to be Princess Leia. Older adult me wanted to be General Leia. And all of me just loved Carrie Fisher.

Little things keep hitting me now, like how hard it will be to watch VIII. I've never missed SW playing in the theater - ever. And it's just going to be so hard now.

I recently wrote my first SW fic since like, 2000, and it was about Leia. I feel like I can't even go there anymore.

My son loves SW and Leia is his favorite. We have all these SW books for kids and we read them all the time. How am I going to read to him about "Way-a" now without breaking down crying?

These are all selfish things because obviously this is bigger than me, but still.

Rian made a statement on Twitter:

Quote:
Carrie was an incredible person. I feel lucky I got to know her, and heartbroken.

This is so gutting. There are so many different things to mourn about this loss.

Heard the news in passing, took a beat, then thought, "Nah, must be some other Carrie Fisher."

Sad news.
