Howdy-I admit, I'm a bit of a virgin to online forums, but I was compelled to put in my 2 cents and render my heartiest thanks to Rian: I am a big admirer of Maximilian Schell, and have in the last few years been frustrated by his abscence from English language films in general, and in roles worthy of his mettle in particular. So: I. Cannot. Wait. To. See. This. Film., especially after being introduced to the juicy sleaziness of Diamond Dog, courtesy of the Ain't It Cool site.
Congratulations on having the excellent taste and vision to cast Herr Schell in this role-hopefully, it will inspire other equally tasteful and visionary filmmakers to realize how criminally underappreciated he has been for too long.

(Incidentally, to any posters who aren't overly familar with Schell's work, Iwould like to suggest-no, insist-you check out the DVD of 'Man In The Glass Booth'. It's a long way from Dr. Reinhardt, but you will be blown away, I guarantee.)

I have no Max puns left in my locker. But I'll pass on the trippy recommendation of Mr. Ronen on this forum regarding Max - check out Topkapi if you haven't already.

Max plays the villain in Bloom, and he's truly creepy. (in the movie, that is.) Plus he mostly came up with his own costume, which involves a red fur eyepatch. :twisted:

In all seriousness though, that's really cool.

Ronen;
You lose-the closest I've been to Maxli is sending him an admittedly gushy, but honest review of 'My Sister Maria' I wrote for the weekly I work for thru his agency, figuring he probably would never see it, but what the hey. Turns out he did, and he liked it very much, cause a lady from the company that distributes the film called me to request a copy and said so. Needless to say (and to swipe a quote from one of Max's lesser films, 'Vampires'), I got wood. Teak. (Which, being a girl, is quite a feat. )
That's very cool, knowing he did his own costume (A fur eye patch? Kinky.)-I'm guessing Diamond Dog was a welcome change for him, as he's played so many kindly, wise patriarchs/clergy/holocaust survivors in the last few years, I started missing him playing Nazis.
(Although in 'Coast To Coast', he does have a small, but highly enjoyable role as a salacious college prof.)
And, can anyone tell me how you put the little pictures on here? I tried to put a cute pic of the Dr. Reinhardt action figure with my post, and failed miserably.
