RIan,

Do you plan on launching an awards campaign? I think you have a chance for direction or original screenplay.

If you want, I can try to help with the grassroots demographic. My twitter is Zach_Baum. you can contact me there if you want the help.

Thanks Zach - I don't think so, we're not really on the awards radar and Summit won't push it. Appreciate it though. 8)

What could've been...

Summit bastards get one hit about vampire teenagers and think they know it all.

Rian, i could try to find some friends to help out.

we can also make a strong argument for Mark Ruffalo. Though his hat gave him most of his acting powers, he still pulled a fantastic preformance. from what i have heard so far he is in contention for scorsse's Shutter Island later this year. convince people to look back and maybe we could pull it out.

The film already swept the prestigious SarahAlyse Awards, including Best Film, Best Score, Best Actor (Adrien Brody), Best Actress (Rachel Weisz), Best Hat (Mark Ruffalo), Best Moue (Rinko Kikuchi), Best Accent (Robbie Coltrane), Best CGI Helicopters, and Best Performance By a Kitten.

What more could they want?

So, AMPAS expanded the nominee pool from five Best Picture Nominees to ten. It's a marketing move, sure - studios want to have more DVDs that say "nominated for Best Picture" on the cover, AMPAS want a show that will have enough nominations to include crowd-pleasing great movies - but surely Summit could make sure The Brothers Bloom could benefit. In theory, Summit could kick off a campaign to get The Brothers Bloom a nomination for Best Picture, considering they now have double the chances.

Even though that's a better performance, typical academy members will give it to "the disabled one".

Precisely. As soon as you play a dude with no legs or a retard (or in the case of women, an uggo), people fall all over themselves to praise your performance. Same goes for kittens, obv.

Rian, I recently listened to your podcast commentary for the film, just for fun. I now love and Hate you. I love you for creating one of my favorite films and hate you for forever raising the bar of detail that every film should contain. From the colors to the background it was all fantastic. With the New 10 Best Pic Noms you have a chance, send the academy a commentary. Please. You have a chance. create a fund and i will donate, if summit wont. tell me what to do,

-Zach
