It's still April 11th over here

And according to it's moviefone rating, it already sucks!

I can now say, with some degree of certainty, that it will NOT be April 11th.

Don't take that moviefone rating too seriously. Mr. Moviefone is a dirty bastard.

It give's the Bratz movie 4 stars. That movie easily deserves 5 stars, it's a cinematic classic.

I take movie phone very seriously, ever since I found out that he records the secret tracks running underneath popular music to hypnotize me, I've just been impressed.

Rian-I don't suppose The B.B. has been entered in the Seattle Film Festival yet-? Hope, hope.

Nope - festivals are all going to depend on the release date, but there probably won't be a big run of them. On the up side, the release will most likely get much wider than Brick, so you won't need a festival screening to see it. 8)

Well that's good news. Does that also mean I won't have to go back to the Angelika in New York to see it? God bless the place for screening it in the first place but low dialogue and loud subway train don't mix. I actually need to go back there in a few days to see Persepolis.

And yeah, I'm kind of back after months of lurking and the likes.

This week's Entertainment Weekly mentions Brothers Bloom in their Fashion Forward bit, saying it is coming out at the end of next year. Much later than the April 11 date folks have been mentioning. Is it moving forward because it is such a good film?

The April 11th date would have been way too soon, it's something we were asking the distributor to reconsider, and in the end the did. With a later date we'll have the time to finish it without rushing, but even more importantly it'll give us time through the summer to screen it here and there and get the word out. Best of all, I'll get a little sleep this month.

I'd be interested to know what step of post you are in. Just a whee bit of filmmaker curiosity.

Spring is a good season but I guess the summer in U.S. is the major cinema season, isn't it? here in Spain for example the "prime-time" in theatres is from October to January, but I think in the U.S. is the summer when more audience attend the theatres, so it's a "sunny" idea to push it a little.

Hopefully, "here" refers to right here, as in, my bedroom.

I'll clean first, I promise. We'll hook up the project and make some popcorn and have a good ol' time.
