Another good side: this just gives us more time to tour the Bloom Bus around the country, gathering kindred souls for a May premiere you'll never forget!

Dissapointment aside, what do you think of the move?

Well, Ugh.
I suppose looking on the bright side, it saves me from having to drive to Encino to Laemmle's Town Center 5 next weekend now that Bloom won't be playing.

(More attempt at positive spin: maybe in May'09 it can now get an LA opening run at The Arclight)

The economy will hopefully have rebounded by then, so BO should be better. I've seen speculation where blockbusters (easy example, I guess) earning $525m worldwide in this market would be seeing that total bumped to over $700m in pre-recession dollars. That's a lot of indie films not getting funded.

-revives thread with agony-

Ahhhhhhhh I can't believe I was living under the misconception of a release in January for the past few weeks until I finally checked and discovered that it isn't going to be released until May.

Which is actually a better thing because it'll be more convenient to see it then, but still. The anticipation would kill me if I wasn't so darn set on finally seeing this movie! x)

A word to the wise: Don't piss off the girl who has access to your account information.

Just remembered that along with my birthday being the 13th, three days before the previous release date, I also share my birthday with Orlando Bloom.

WHAT!?

That means it'll be here in fall.
I'm gonna kill someone  ! It's been too long already!

And another thing. Is there any chance of getting the movie to be on some festival in Balkans, or Italy, or Austria? Any clues on that?

This movie leaves me looking forward to the director's next film;
we can say of Rian Johnson, as somebody once said about a dame
named Brigid O'Shaughnessy, "You're good. You're very good."
- Roger Ebert

are we there yet?

Y'know, I had never read Ebert's review of Brick, since, well, Ebert sucks. But after seeing that quote, I thought, "Hey, maybe I should see what he had to say."

Roger Ebert wrote:
The victim is Emily (Emilie de Ravin), who called him earlier for help; from a lonely phone booth (itself a relic of pre-cellular movies) he sees her being taken past in a car, possibly a captive.

Oh, Roger.
