I wish all the Brickers could be in one place at once...that'd be a trip. I'd be very curious to see what kind of group dynamic we'd end up with in what the kids call "real life."

Someday Rian will invite us all to his secluded mansion where we'll finally get to chit-chat over dinner before being individually picked off in increasingly imaginative ways. I'm sure of it.

For some reason, all I can picture is the beginning diner scene in Reservoir Dogs. Duane Schirmer as 'Steve Buscemi.'

Brick 10th Anniversary Halloween in January party (that against all odds is actually finally held) at Maison de la Rian. I'd be there, wherever that would be.

However, sadly, a place where I will not be is the NY BB premiere weekend. Too much stuff, too little time and no money is a grueling combination. Luckily the stuff I have to do is upcoming web-series-related, so I'm pretty happy for that, but more about it later at a more appropriate place and so on... hopefully.

I don't tip.

But, seriously, with the opening of Brothers Bloom, I think it's time that we open up nominations for the second quasi-annual Brick Awards.

Try to imagine the dynamic between Duane and Manny. I think I'd have to have a camera running the whole time to see if I could catch them agreeing on something, although I'm not sure the space-time continuum could handle that happening in person.

I believe the Vulcans call it "Red Matter."

I'm bringing myself and three others. Although I think we're arriving separately, not sure yet.

Is this the point where we should exchange numbers? I'm planning on being up a few hours early, but don't really have any plans with what to do with the extra time--either Amoeba or the beer-tasting, I suppose.

I'm fairly comfortable saying that any of you in LA can call me any time this week at 206-867-5309 if you want to hang out. Max, you can

A friend of mine I've known online for nearly ten years and have never met in person is now living in LA and is doing a stand-up show on Sunday night that I'm planning to attend as soon as he tells me where it is. If anyone's up for that, you're welcome to come along.

As for Saturday itself: does anyone want to get together for a pre-funk/dinner prior to the show? We might want to do drinks or something afterward as well, so we can talk about how it's better than Brick or alternately how much it sucks. Whatever you guys are into, call me!

Sigh, I wish I was back in LA. I visited my brother out there twice in the last two months and I couldn't possibly afford yet another ticket out there.

As far as tonight goes I'll be at the 7:30 showing in New York. I'm not much for meet-ups per-say (and really, nobody on here seems to be in New York) but in case you see me at the theater or getting a bite to eat around the area, this is me.

Image

I am not entirely handsome and apart from countless games of Dr. Mario I have no real medical experience.

25 points if you can guess where I am in that photo.

25 bonus points if you can tell me how to take better pictures with a Canon SD1100 in low light situations.
