Jeffrey Wells is hilarious.

But the best part is this comment, by user "Deathtongue_Groupie" (you can't make this stuff up).

Deathtongue_Groupie wrote:
Surprised Well, being an East Coast boy, didn't also include the fact that they try to get away with calling the house Weisz supposedly lives in "the largest private home on the East Coast" in his reasons for hating it.
Only if the movie takes place in an alternate reality where Biltmore Estate in NC doesn't exist would it be so.

Also: rings do not make you invisible.

Did Jeffrey Wells write both articles because, ya know, the logic in both sounds awfully similar. And I guess his name is Wells 'cause he's so deep. Sh*t the comments on this forum are better than that crap.

Almost sounds like this guy works for a rival studio. WTF is that review?

You can't take a movie seriously because the main character doesn't have a first name?

Edit : Or has one, but it isn't stated.

I'm growing tired of hearing, "caught up in it's own cleverness." The last time I checked, which was probably about 12:46 yesterday afternoon; cleverness was a good thing. Stephen Hawking must also be too brilliant, and Rachel Weisz must also be too beautiful. I was not aware that was bad, I now hate them both. He might as well say that Bloom was "too good." In which case I now want to see it too much.

I personally get a big kick out of what he's written about Bloom - kinda like Rex Reed's Brick review, which is still my favorite piece of writing EVER. (And from what I hear, Mr. Reed saw Bloom at Toronto and HATED it, so we've got another dollop of heaven that'll be dropping into our outstretched palms...)

The fact that Rex Reed is still allowed to watch films, much less review them, will never cease to amaze me.

The guy from My Fair Lady is still alive, and reviewing Bloom? Awesome!

Wait, Rex Reed is a real person's name? Sounds like a megalomaniacal millionaire supervillain....maybe Lex Luthor's best friend?

Pretty sure the original has retired to Bimini, and now it's just a moniker-for-rent, like Ellery Queen.

Rex Reed is still ALIVE?

Yes. Anything that was in or around Myra Breckinridge will most certainly live forever. Except Mae West.

I always picture Rex Manning whenever I read or hear about someone named "Rex."
