In essentially unrelated news, I just now realized Director of Photography and Cinematographer are the same thing. My mind has exploded.

You can, however, ask Steve any math question and be astounded as he answers and your brain explodes.

They're all "cameraman" to me. When I'm writing I don't call myself "Director Of Plot Architecture"...

Really?

I do. I even have a sign on my desk that reminds me. I polish it when I'm out of ideas.

I hope to someday meet this Steve and challenge this theory.

I'm convinced he intends to shoot the time travel in Looper by actually inventing it.

I wouldn't be surprised.

Just because you mentioned time travel... I bought this, as a shirt, with the money I was supposed to spend on tonight's bus fare to the city.

Money well spent. Apparently there's a huge threadless store around here somewhere, but I haven't stumbled across it yet. I should really try to...

Also, I read a somewhat frightening article about backwards time travel sort of similar to Primer a while ago that frightened me a bit. The basic concept was if the world went to shit, we would build backwards time travel devices and all come back to an easier, better time, say, tomorrow. Now the population has doubled. And over the years earth still goes to shit, and we all go back again, and now it has tripled. And we would keep going back in time to try, to live in a better time, with the population growing every time.

That didn't scare me so much. The thing about it would be that, to us, it would just look like billions of people just appeared on earth tomorrow.

It was great to hear Steve's explanation of the complex lighting techniques involved in the bang bang / curator sex scene

Spoiler alert! (Not the plot, so much as my life.)
